EU gives Castroism funds for the opposition. The euros destined by the EU do not go to civil society.
The funds allocated by the European Union (EU) for aid to Cuban civil society, and which come from the payment of taxes by European citizens, are being given directly to the Castro regime, according to an investigation by the NGO Prisoners Defenders.
The document directly accuses the EU ambassador to Cuba, Alberto Navarro, and his team of using money from annual seminars entitled "EU-Cuba Civil Society Seminar" to give to the government, rather than to Cuban NGOs.
Navarro, along with 37 MEPs, mostly from the center-left, give European taxpayers' money to the regime, circumventing the budget lines under which the money is transferred from EU accounts. According to Prisoners Defenders, this ruse could result in a formal indictment for the alleged criminal offense of fraud by embezzlement of public funds.

Cuban influence in leftist candidate for the presidency of Peru.
Maria Werlau, founder of the Cuba Archive at Georgetown University, has warned Peruvians about Cuban interference in the program of Pedro Castillo, leftist candidate of the Peru Libre party for the second round of elections in the South American country, to be held on June 6.
In an interview with the site Perú 21, the Cuban-American intellectual, author of the volume La intervención de Cuba en Venezuela: Una ocupación estratégica con implicaciones globales, points out that "the evidence of Cuba's penetration in Peru is solid" and has been documented since the early days of Fidel Castro's revolution.
"We know how Cuba operates and how it has exported this model throughout the region for more than six decades. This is not new; they are experts in mass mobilization", he points out, and adds that the regime's attempt to take the model to other countries in the area has never been stopped, it has only adopted other forms, by way of "make-up to the obvious armed subversion".

Otero handcuffed to hospital bed. Cuban scientist Ariel Ruiz Urquiola reported that artist Luis Manuel Otero Alcantara remains handcuffed to a bed at the Calixto Garcia Hospital in Havana, where he has been held incommunicado since authorities transferred them to that facility on Sunday.
"He is in a ward of the Calixto Garcia guarded by the political police. He has two henchmen in a permanent post in front of him, with cameras placed in the place where he is to be able to detect if anyone tries to take any photographs or make any filming," said Urquiola.
This information came to the biologist's hands from two close sources who for the moment decided to remain anonymous for security reasons, but who at some point will reveal their identity.
