President Trump on Tuesday issued an order that blocks undocumented immigrants from being counted in the 2020 census for the purpose of allocating congressional representation.

The order, which immediately prompted legal challenges, amounts to something of a workaround for Trump after the Supreme Court last year blocked the administration from adding a citizenship question to the decennial survey.

What is Multiculturalism?

Multiculturalism is a broad ranged set of ideas and policies geared towards granting special recognition and/or status to groups of different cultures, races, ethnicities, religion’s, sex, gender affiliations or other minorities. In dealing with pluralism within a democracy, the policies of multiculturalism foster cultural and, ultimately, moral relativism. By extending special privileged legal recognitions to certain groups, the notion of equality under the law is undermined. The practice of “identity politics” is causally related to multiculturalism.
