Trump, Hamilton and State Legislatures.

Trump, by insisting on going to the courts and, above all, to the state legislatures, to denounce the fraud in these elections with abundant evidence, is defending democratic institutions

Alexander Hamilton never met the Democratic Party of 2020. The seminal measures that this member of the U.S. Founding Fathers promoted for the Constitution in Federalist No. 68, however, seem to have been designed to avoid the very kind of political sleaze and corruption that we have witnessed in the recent presidential election. The political machinery built by Barack Obama, which constructed the Biden/Harris ticket, has put the legitimacy of American democracy at risk. Despite this, Hamilton may have formulated a mechanism to rescue the integrity of the system and, possibly, the Republic.

What did George Washington’s Secretary of the Treasury and personal aide in the Revolutionary War (or War of Independence) write in this Federalist essay? Concerned that domestic political corruption or foreign interference could contaminate the nascent nation’s electoral process and “elect” an incompetent, or worse, a malevolent first chief executive, Hamilton structured in this essay, written on March 14, 1788, the moral and philosophical outlines for structuring an instrument that brought together popular sovereignty with the preventive parameters of republican containment.

The real reason why Hispanics voted for Trump.

The 2020 US presidential election has not yet been officially decided. Some things, though, are indisputable and already a matter of truth. A big surprise for many was the fact that a staggering and surprising number of Hispanics voted for the incumbent 45^th president. How can this be explained?

Trump picked up 10 million more votes in 2020 than in 2016. That only tells us, though, part of the story and misses a key tectonic shift within the political landscape. Yes, Joe Biden did manage to pull off some surprises with the legal votes he garnered. According to The New York Times, Biden managed to snatch from Trump certain sectors of white-collar, affluent, college-educated republicans from red counties. These country-club republican types never took in kindly to Trump’s mannerisms, his hostility towards globalist schemes and only voted for him in 2016, because they detested Hillary Clinton more. 

This victory lap for the Democrats, however, was brutally dwarfed by the Hispanic exodus to the Republican candidate. This lays witness to a far bigger conquest, not just for the GOP, but for what Trumpism stands for. It is on this seminal point, that most in the press and the Democratic Party have failed to comprehensively appreciate, much less express. This is, indeed, a nightmarish, devasting reality for the Democrats.

Cuba’s Influence in American Academia.

To accurately fathom the success of the Castro-Communist regime[1] in Cuba, as measured by its ability to fructuously withstand the pressures for democratic[2] liberalization and persevere in power, the mobilization of a supportive, widespread intellectual elite class[3] has been important and effectively achieved throughout the democratic world. This has been significantly the case in the United States, its most important challenge within the community of free countries. Academia has served Cuba as an indispensable tool in a dual capacity to: (1) assist in fostering radical political activism abroad (revolutionary and gradualist); (2) and facilitate internal power retention and even survival. Some of the salient displays of this relationship include:  (a) the concealment and downplaying of Cuba´s abysmal human rights record and other gross state misconducts; (b) application of the Marxian principle of the primacy of “revolutionary practice”; (c) emblematic governance for the New Left; (d) espionage (strategic, political and probably commercial); (e) multilateral movement facilitation; and (f) commercial lobbying.
