Critical Race Theory: atheist political religion. Reminder: Critical race theory isn't scriptural. Leaders are buying into unbiblical, Marxist ideas.
A former news and religion reporter with more than 25 years of Christian broadcasting experience says accusing the evangelical Church of being steeped in white supremacy is just some evangelical leaders' way of trying to be relevant in today's "woke" culture.
The accusation comes from evangelical illuminati like author and Wheaton professor Ed Stetzer and Southern Baptist Convention President J.D. Greear. They accuse the evangelical Church of being blind to rampant systemic racism in its midst.
Talk show host Janet Mefferd says these leaders are buying into unbiblical, Marxist ideas.
"In order to assert that the majority of Christians in America who have white skin are white supremacists, you have to be playing with critical race theory, not with scripture," Mefferd submits.
Still, some of the authors almost say as much. In one Christianity Today article, for example, Stetzer writes a review of a book called White Fragility.
"White Fragility is not a Christian book," he argues, "so of course it is based on nonbiblical assumptions, yet when it is examined through the eyes of scripture, it can still help us to see areas we need to address."
"I think a lot of what we're seeing from some of these woke evangelical leaders is just virtue signaling, and it's politicized thought wrapped in Bible verses," the radio host responds.
She says if these church leaders have too much preoccupation with worldly philosophies, then it will take away from their much more important and relevant study of scripture.

"The Church is countercultural," Mefferd asserts. "We are to be salt and light into any culture in which God puts us, but we are not like the culture. We are prophetic to the culture when we are operating as Christians."
If the Church does not go back to that direction, she warns that it will severely impact the country.
