Now the fractured American Republic finds itself with the executive and legislative branches in the hands of the very group that have done much to bring us to where we are.
There is a serious institutional crisis within America’s democracy. The incidents that occurred at the Capital Building are only symptomatic manifestations of deeper systemic fractures. There is no single culprit, and it has taken time to unfold. Will this be a cyclical, stationary malice or will it have permanent embedding effects?
American Democracy
To be clear, when we speak of democracy as in a popular self-government political arrangement, in the case of the United States, we understand that the American variant is an indirect version with strict republican components. Power is divided, decentralized, and made to cordially compete against each other for the purpose of protecting freedom. This is the original intent of the Framers. This sui generis manner of organizing society and political power was not only applicable to the government. Civil society also was entrusted to be guardians of the system. This is all a chimera today.

No matter what the outcome, today will be a historical event of tremendous proportions. Adherence to the constitution remains to be seen.
Today is the day the president is elected. It is not on Election Day or when state governors certify the electoral votes. It is only when Congress formally counts those votes, and the 270-number threshold is reached.
The 2020 presidential election has been and is in dispute. This is not out of capriciousness, as critics of the President claim. State election laws were altered in reaction to the pandemic crisis. This was done without the proper constitutional channels that allow for changes. As a result, a wide range of voting irregularities and anomalies took place tipping the election in favor of one candidate over the other by less numbers than those of the votes whose validity is in question.

The date brings sadness to Cubans, that day marked the historical aberration of the Communist takeover of Cuba.
For most Cubans, New Year’s Day comes with mixed emotions. The convivial occasion, on the one hand, of saying goodbye to the departing year and welcoming a new one, is celebrated joyously as is the custom in most parts of the world. At the same time, a degree of sadness engulfs Cubans. That day, marked the historical aberration of the Communist takeover of Cuba occurred. The claim of an epic guerrilla-led, revolutionary war of national liberation victory, militarily won, and consummated to overcome abject poverty, social injustices and neo-colonial claims in Cuba is fraudulent and part of the historiographical farce the far-left has conned a great part of the world into believing. Comprehensive deceit and walloping disinformation have been the foundational pillars of Castro-Communism since its inception.

“The socialist offensive has seeped into all levels of American cultural and political life since the May BLM and Antifa riots”
2020 was a year where Socialism, in all its variants, made enormous inroads into the circles of power in America. This occurred in different fronts and not necessarily synchronized. They all did have, however, the same common enemy.
This made the target, those stalwart centerpieces of resistance to Marxism’s “long march through the institutions” of American democracy, unison. The result of this onslaught remains to be seen. The elevation of social consciousness in response to the perils presented by these systemic challenges by a great part of American society, is most encouraging. Moments of crisis, quite often in historical experience, bring out the best in people. 2020 and the crisis to the Republic is such an opportunity.
