Interview with Maria Zolkina: Ukrainian political analyst

The CubanAmerican Voice

Interview with Maria Zolkina: Ukrainian political analyst.

In this interview by Julio M. Shiling, director of Patría de Martí and The CubanAmerican Voice, of Maria Zolkina, a Ukrainian political analyst at the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, various aspects of the Russian invasion were discussed. The question of genocide was raised, as well the West’s support for Ukraine’s defense and freedom. The Ukrainian human rights activist noted that the U.S. and NATO are supplying weapons only enough to keep Ukraine from falling, but not enough to defeat the Russian aggressors. The interview provides an ample view of the position sustained by most Ukrainians that are fighting for their country’s survival.

Russia May Put Troops in Venezuela and Cuba if US Tensions Continue

THE EPOCH TIMES

Russia May Put Troops in Venezuela and Cuba if US Tensions Continue. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who headed Jan. 10’s talks with U.S. officials in Geneva, said he could neither “confirm nor exclude” the possibility of a Russian military build-up within the borders of Cuba and Venezuela if tensions continue with the United States over Ukraine.

Ryabkov’s statement adds pressure to existing tensions with the West over the presence of Russian troops near the Ukraine border, which prompted a high stakes meeting with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Jan. 12 in Vienna.

Putin’s government demanded a cessation of NATO’s expansion, which was promptly rejected by the United States and its Western allies. {loadpositionSubscribe}

Chile did not wake up, it went crazy

El Minuto

The events that occurred on Sunday, December 12, when supporters of the presidential candidate José Antonio Kast carried out a banner in Plaza Italia, are not isolated. Since the first marches in favor of the Rejection option, we patriots have been constantly threatened and violated by hordes of individuals with irrational actions that attack people for no reason, just for having a different political position than theirs.

I perfectly remember the first events of violence unleashed in one of the first marches when they reached the vicinity of Manuel Montt street, adherents of the Approve began to throw bottles and other blunt objects from the Tajamar Towers at the people who were marching peacefully, including children and the elderly, but they did not care at all, because irrational hatred had already settled in the heads of those people. Nor did the press care at all, who dedicated themselves to accusing the young people of Vanguardia who were protecting the march and did not give an account of the real attacks on the people.

Stalin-era mass grave found in Ukraine

BBC NEWS

Stalin-era mass grave found in Ukraine. What may be one of Ukraine's largest Stalin-era mass graves has been identified by researchers.

The remains of between 5,000 and 8,000 people were found in 29 graves in the southern city of Odessa.

The site, believed to date back to the late 1930s, was uncovered during exploration works for a planned expansion of an airport.

Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are believed to have died during Joseph Stalin's rule of the Soviet Union.
