The Blockade of Castro-Communist Cuba is Against the Cuban People
- Oscar Elías Biscet
The problem in Cuba is the worsening of a chronic economic crisis inherent to the collectivist, socialist, or communist system of centralized planning and its immobility.
They dress as cultured and civic, but their foul mouths are part of their identity that has always stood out. Communists have a viperous and offensive language that they disguise with their affected behavior. They restrain their vulgarities in the public arena, even when angry, hiding their hatred and applying it through their laws, where they institutionalize tyranny and proclaim themselves civilized and humanist, while simply being predators of freedom.
The manipulation of the civic multitude to convert it into a popular mass indoctrinated in communist ideology through discriminatory linguistics of freedom, imposed by the Castro-socialist tyranny. This type of political communication censored general and inoffensive words but representative of democracy and called them ideological deviation, such as sir, government, police station, Jesus (The Christ), and one still in force to mask the failure of the socialist system is the term blockade instead of the embargo.
In the United Nations General Assembly, every year since 1992, the Castro regime brings up the bilateral trade issue between Cuba and the United States. Still, they present it in realistic language, with the following title: "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba," resolution A/78/L.5, of October 11, 2023. This embargo allows Cuba to purchase food, medicines, and other goods from the USA.
It seems that the ringleaders and henchmen of Cuba's tyrannical regime do not know the history of real blockades, where no one and nothing enters or leaves the country. Such as the blockade of the city-state of Tyre by General Alexander the Great (332 BC) or Granada for the Independence of Spain (1490). They must know about the one carried out by their metropolis, the Soviet Union, the failed attempt to snatch freedom from Berliners, the blockade of West Berlin (1948), and in 1962, the American Quarantine or naval and air blockade of the Cuban island due to the presence of offensive Soviet nuclear missiles.
The Cuban regime frequently complains about the embargo and falsely claims the existence of an economic blockade on the country to hide its failed collectivist system and poor administrative management from the Cuban people; as they have diplomatic and commercial ties with many countries in the world. Cuba's diplomatic and consular relations are with 195 States, represented by 125 embassies, 20 consulates, and 6 representations abroad, and Havana hosts 113 embassies.
Cuba's commercial relations are extensive, exporting its products to 114 countries and importing from 155. 80% of domestic consumption is purchased abroad, and 334 businesses with foreign investments from more than 40 countries are present on the island. The main trading partners are Venezuela, Canada, China, Russia, Mexico, the USA, and Spain, the latter has even sold them weapons, which they used to repress the Cuban people in the July 11 demonstrations.
The Cuban regime's trade is so important and secure that it conducts business with all the world's economic powers, such as China, Germany, Japan, India, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Brazil, Canada, and Russia. The United States is the 5th largest trading partner of Cuba's tyrannical regime.
Cuba's problem is the worsening of a chronic economic crisis inherent to the collectivist, socialist, or communist system of centralized planning and its immobility. They will not emerge from failure even with policies of discreet permissiveness of private property, controlled by the Communist Party (PCC) and the political police (DSE) for systemic subsistence, in the style of Lenin-Stalin's New Economic Policy (NEP) of 1921.
The Castro-communist regime received a lot of Soviet money; from 1961 to 1991, it obtained 6 billion dollars every year from the Soviet Union; during this period, Castroism did not speak of blockade or embargo. Then Spain and the European Union, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and other democratic countries and their capitalist banks (the majority are leftist globalists) oxygenated the subsistence of the communist revolution and total salvation, with its economic and social mutilations, with a lot of money and resources in the Soviet way by Chavista Venezuela. We also cannot forget the dirty money from drug trafficking that turned Cuba into a narco-state.
The European Union, USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, other democratic countries, and the banks of the Paris Club and London Club persist in saving their tyrannical communist revolution in Cuba, but the ingratitude and condemnable work of the Cuban regime's ringleaders and administrators who do not pay the sovereign debt contracted with those institutions and fell into debt default for years. Some of the creditors had to go to trials in the High Court of London to recover their loans.
Despite the large loans of Soviet money, from Venezuela, and Western and democratic countries to the Castro dictatorship, the Cuban people continue to live in poverty. Cuba is the poorest country in Latin America, according to the firm DatoWorld, in 2023. Likewise, a year earlier, the Hanke Annual Misery Index considered Cuba the country with the poorest economy in the world, and in 2023, the Cuban Observatory of Human Rights assured in its research that almost 90% of the Cuban population is in extreme poverty.
The Cuban people are suffering from the misery aggravated by the lack of freedom. Also, by the unusual fact that democratic and free countries support the survival of Castro Díaz-Canel's totalitarian communist tyranny; when they know that the real blockade is that of the Castro dictatorship on the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Cubans. It is time to stand on the side of the people for the gestation of a free Cuba.
