ACLU joins leftist war on law enforcement. Not a Typo: ACLU Calls for Dismantling the Department of Homeland Security, has gone all-in on defunding the police.

What was formerly considered to be an even-handed and serious civil rights organization in decades gone by has gone all-in on defunding the police. The American Civil Liberties Union announced Monday it is seeking the defunding and dismantling of the entire Department of Homeland Security (DHS), created after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The behemoth agency, created because of the lack of communication between domestic investigators and international spy agencies leading to the 9/11 attacks, oversees several key agencies:

The city of Portland was forced to disband its Gun Violence Reduction Team at the order of the City Council in response to protests demanding they defund police. Since then, Portland has seen more killings in one month than in the last thirty years. The Oregonian reported:

Portland police are scrambling to respond to 15 homicides in the city so far in July. That’s the most killings in one month in more than three decades, they said.

So far this year, 24 people have died in homicides in Portland.

The spike in violence happened after the police unit dedicated to shootings was defunded. Authorities are scrambling to pull resources from other areas since the Gun Violence Reduction Team had largely been responsible for community follow-up during investigations. The radical left demanded that we defund the police, then upped the ante by calling for them to be disarmed.

It started with toppling Confederate statues, then started in on most any cast or carved image—from Christopher Columbus to abolitionists to Mount Rushmore.

Last week, it howled for a boycott of Goya food products after the company’s CEO committed “wrongthink” by daring to say something nice about the president in public.

So what’s next for the outrage mob? Canceling the Pentagon.
