Violent Arbitrary Detention against the Miranda Leyva Family.
Ana Iris Miranda Leyva, Ada Iris Miranda Leyva, Fidel Manuel Batista Leyva, Maydolis Leyva Portelles (Political Prisoners and Prisoners of Conscience), Tahimí Rodríguez Miranda (14 years old) and Alain Michel Rodríguez Miranda (13 years old), children of Ada Iris, denounce the violent Arbitrary Detention perpetrated against them, and even against the little dog Luna, on June 16, 2021, at approximately 1: 30 PM; Maydolis, the two children and the little dog were detained for 1 hour, and in the case of the three siblings it lasted until June 19, 2021 at the UDCSE.
On June 16, 2021, at approximately 1:30 PM, all the members of the Miranda Leyva Family, including the little dog, were arbitrarily and violently detained in Garayalde / Libertad and Maceo streets while they were carrying out a strong Public Protest claiming their Right to Housing. All this at the gates of the infamous Poder Popular and Fiscalía; repressive communist agencies of municipal instance in this case. Along with the Miranda Leyva Family was the 73 year old María Casado Ureña, also without housing because of communist guilt; but she was not arrested.
Ana Iris, Ada Iris and Fidel Batista made a strong Public Protest with Demands such as "Down with the Communist Dictatorship, Long Live Human Rights, Freedom for Political Prisoners, Miranda Leyva Family Demands Right to Housing, etc.". When the henchmen of the state security arrived, the three Anticommunist Opposition brothers lay down in the middle of the street while they continued shouting; paralyzing the traffic of vehicles.
The three Anticommunist brothers were arrested with great violence in patrol car 484 and taken to the Holguin Criminal Prosecution, to the division of the Unit of Crimes Against State Security (UDCSE), located in the town of Pedernales. There the three Human Rights Activists suffered many beatings, physical and mental torture, death threats, assassination attempts and serious moral and political offenses; perpetrated by the henchmen of the UDCSE, the detainee controllers (jailers), and in the case of Ana Iris even by a common criminal in the same cell. Ana Iris was violently thrown to the floor by a uniformed Major, who tried to cut her with a scalpel (blade). This communist assassin tried to smash Ana Iris' head against the wall of the cell's bathroom, and when he failed to do so, he cut her arm with the scalpel. Fidel Batista was savagely beaten in front of the cell door, in the corridor, when he demanded a mattress for Ana Iris. The Opositor was brutally thrown to the floor, where they tried to break his right leg while they beat him with kicks, punches, slaps and moral offenses. Then they chained him in a figure eight with the "boas" (chains and handcuffs that immobilize his hands and feet behind his back from the waist). He was then lifted by the chain and thrown to the floor. All this in the presence of the nurse on duty and the Major who attacked Ana Iris. The 3 communist henchmen who brutally beat Fidel Batista were the detainee controllers Yoani, Carlos and another of unknown name. He was also offended and threatened by Henry and Cobas (detainee controls). Ada Iris was also severely beaten; but mostly with technical blows, which hurt without leaving marks.
Something very serious is that Cobas, several other detainee controllers and three older uniformed men were inciting the detainees for common crimes to beat the Opositores brothers. They also threatened them with group beatings when they see them in the street. Ana Iris, Ada Iris and Fidel Batista were on hunger strike for three days during the arbitrary detention.
They were released on June 19, 2021 at almost 3:00 PM. And they had to walk from Pedernales to the city of Holguin (about 8 km) to the house where their mother, the two children and the little dog were temporarily. But before they were released, two repressors of the state security, Major Danilo (head of confrontation in Holguin) and Erick (alias "Santiago") appeared before them; to tell them that there are no houses in the center of the city of Holguin, neither to change nor to stay temporarily. And that they will continue arbitrarily detaining the Miranda Leyva Family every time they go out to Demand the Right to Housing; until revoking them to prison.
When they were arbitrarily detained, on June 16, 2021, at approximately 1:30 PM, Maydolis, the two children and the dog were taken to the Plaza "4 de Abril"; in the Alcides Pino neighborhood. There they were held for more than 1 hour inside the repressive car (with a state license plate), which was parked under a leafless tree, suffering strong heat from the sun. In the arbitrary detention of the Miranda Leyva family were Lt. Colonel Ulises Raspal (of Minint's Prevention of Minors), the violent henchman Evelio and Erick (alias "Santiago"), both repressors of the state security.
Since September 26, 2020, when they were almost killed by communist mobs inside their home, the Miranda Leyva Family has been wandering the streets, homeless, threatened with death. Currently the four adults of the Family are again under criminal sanction for political reasons; and if they are sent back to prison the two children are in grave danger of being interned in a "centro de menores" (minint's juvenile prison). Although the Miranda Leyva Family has desperately requested a Political Asylum or Humanitarian Visa for any free and democratic country, no foreign official or NGO has cared about the Life of six people and a little dog.
