Similar tactics have popped up during protests and riots in places such as Portland, Ore., and Louisville, Ky. Protesters in Rochester were seen forming their own variation last week as organizers screamed for âwhite shieldsâ to form a protective circle around black protesters. The strategy is designed so that the white people on the perimeter will receive the brunt of whatever police response comes, if one comes at all, based on the idea that because someone is white, they are less likely to be met with force by police.

An alleged witness to the fatal shooting of right-wing protester Aaron Jay Danielson in Portland said he and Danielson were âhuntedâ by apparent left-wing Antifa members after they were spotted wearing Patriot Prayer hats.
âWeâve got a couple of âem right here, pull it out, pull it out!â the alleged witness recounted them saying, during an interview posted to YouTube by The Common Sense Conservative on Saturday.

Trump supporter murdered in Portland. Antifa celebrates. NYT: Portland Homicide Victim Had âPatriot Prayerâ Hat.
The New York Times reported Saturday night that the victim of a deadly shooting in downtown Portland, Oregon, earlier that evening was wearing a hat associated with âPatriot Prayer,â a right-wing group.
According to journalist Andy NgĂ´, far-left commenters on social media had initially claimed that the victim was black and that the shooter had been a âfascist.â Though the identity and affiliation of the shooter remain unknown, the victim appears to be a white male.
