When education becomes indoctrination

When education becomes indoctrination. A conservative writer who was once a teacher herself says it seems there are two separate sets of standards for public school teachers.

Michigan teacher gets boot for tweeting fact.

When Walled Lake (Michigan) Western High School history teacher Justin Kucera in tweeted, "I'm done being silent. Donald Trump is our president," he was fired. Cultural issues writer Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute says something like that would never happen to a liberal.

"You have liberal teachers who bring their politics into the classroom. It's not even on their private social media platforms; it's into the classroom," Higgins asserts. "It happens all the time, and there [are] no consequences."

She finds it unbelievable that a teacher could be fired from a government school for expressing support for the sitting president.

Higgins

"They can skewer Trump in their classroom, they can dismiss American principles, they can teach that America is a uniquely ugly nation," Higgins lists. "They can do all this, and there are no consequences -- not from the administration, not from their department chairs, not from their school boards, [and] not from the community."

In fact, as Higgins points out in her piece, "'Education' in a pro-propaganda culture," left-leaning teachers demand absolute autonomy and arrogantly claim the right to indoctrinate other people's children with extreme ideologies.
