Trump has no Covid symptoms. White House Doc Says Trump Has 'No Symptoms' of COVID After Returning to White House.
After spending the weekend at Walter Reed Medical Center receiving treatment for COVID-19, President Donald Trump returned to the White House late Monday.
And by Tuesday, his medical team was already providing more positive updates.
In a statement to the media, White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said that Trump has “no symptoms” from the virus, which is extremely good news especially after reports over the weekend that he received supplemental oxygen on Friday for about an hour before being airlifted a short distance to Walter Reed.
“This morning the President’s team of physicians met with him in the Residence,” Conley said. “He had a restful first night at home, and today he reports no symptoms. Vital signs and physical exam remain stable, with an ambulatory oxygen saturation level of 95-97%. Overall he continues to do extremely well, I will provide updates as we know more.”
The statement came hours after Trump expressed that he is ready and willing to participate in the second scheduled presidential debate with Vice President Joe Biden, which is scheduled for October 15 in Miami, Florida. CDC Guidelines recommend 15 days of quarantine for coronavirus. Trump first announced his infection on October 1, which would place the debate on the threshold.
It is unclear whether Biden’s campaign would agree to have Trump stand feet away from its candidate for an extended period so soon after contracting the virus.
"I am looking forward to the debate on the evening of Thursday, October 15th in Miami. It will be great!" he wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah said she expects the president to address the nation "at some point" Tuesday, but did not give a timeframe.
The president did release updates on his condition throughout his stay at Walter Reed, letting us all know he was resting well and recovering nicely.
In one video, Trump said he now “understands” more about COVID-19 after contracting it.
"It’s been a very interesting journey. I learned a lot about COVID. I learned it by really going to school. This is the real school," Trump, 74, said in a pre-recorded address from the presidential suite at Walter Reed.
"And I get it, and I understand it, and it's a very interesting thing, and I’m going to be letting you know about it," he added in the video, posted Sunday.
After returning to the White House, the president also gave the country an uplifting message – namely that COVID-19 is not the planet killer many on the radical left claim it is.
"I just left Walter Reed Medical Center and it’s really something very special. These doctors, the nurses, the first responders; and I learned so much about coronavirus. And one thing that’s for certain: Don’t let it dominate you. Don’t be afraid of it," he said.
"You’re gonna beat it. We have the best medical equipment. We have the best medicines–all developed recently. And you’re gonna beat it."
Congrats on your recovery, Mr. President. And for our readers, first lady Melania Trump said Monday she is feeling good, too.
