How Were They Chosen?

Joe Biden was elected President of the United States in an election that was replete with irregularities and violations that many have labeled fraudulent and was Vice President to Barack Obama.

Miguel Díaz-Canel was elected President by the Cuban National Assembly with 99.83% of the vote (603 votes out of 604 present) although many agree that he was the appointee of the dictator Raúl Castro (whom no one in that sphere has the courage to contradict) hence he is popularly known as the "Handpicked".

Many argue that Biden is to Obama what Miguel Díaz-Canel is to Raúl Castro in Cuba: a puppet. But what does it mean to be a puppet in politics?

But what does it mean to be a puppet in politics?

Why Do They Qualify as Puppets or Marionettes?

A puppet is someone controlled or influenced by another person or group, often behind the scenes. In the case of Biden and Díaz-Canel, many believe them to be mere figureheads of their more powerful predecessors: Obama and Castro.

During their time in office, Biden and Díaz-Canel were both puppets of their more powerful predecessors.

As vice president, Joe Biden was considered a loyal supporter and accomplice to Obama's policies and decisions. He was known for his close relationship with Obama and often acted as a spokesman for the administration. Many critics argue that Biden merely carried out Obama's agenda without much independent thought or action, while taking advantage of his position to continue enriching himself and his family in a scheme of corruption and influence peddling that has endangered US security.

Similarly, Díaz-Canel assumed the presidency of Cuba in 2018 following the resignation of Raúl Castro. Many believe that Díaz-Canel is simply a puppet of the Castro family, which has held dictatorial power in Cuba for decades. Díaz-Canel lacks the authority or independence to enact meaningful change in the country and is merely carrying out the dictator Raúl Castro's designs to the letter.

The case of Biden is very similar and it is said that his presidency constitutes the third term of Obama who runs the country under the shadows with his socialist ideas following the "Gramscian-Fabian" way without openly declaring himself a Marxist. (See the article by Julio M. Shiling to understand the term Gramscian-Fabian way)

In both cases, the idea of being a puppet suggests that Biden and Díaz-Canel do not control their leadership. Instead, they are seen as following the orders or agendas of their more powerful predecessors.

It is important to note, however, that being labeled a puppet is often a matter of perspective. Supporters of Biden and Díaz-Canel try to argue that they are "capable leaders" in their own right, with their own set of beliefs and values, but the experience of their actions indicates quite the opposite.

Biden has a long political career, having served as a senator for many years before becoming Vice President. He may have his ideas on how to run the country but his age, mental health, and lack of principles do not allow him to try to differentiate himself from Obama's socialist directives, of which he is a faithful follower.

Similarly, Díaz-Canel has been involved in Cuban politics for years, rising through the ranks of the Communist Party before becoming President. He has timidly outlined "his vision" for Cuba after receiving Castro's approval, stressing the need for economic reforms and modernization that have failed in their entirety due to his and Castro's own inability due to the 65-year crisis of the socialist system.

In conclusion, while some see Biden and Díaz-Canel as puppets of their predecessors, it is important to keep in mind the complexity of politics and leadership. Both men have coapted beliefs and agendas, but they also lack the courage to stand up to their predecessors so they cannot develop their ideas and have to settle for staying in power until the presidents in the shadows decide otherwise.

By the way, the two men have been able to develop their ideas, and they have to settle for staying in power until the presidents in the shadows decide otherwise.

After stating my views I would like to receive relevant comments on the subject, not forgetting that it is up to the people of each nation to decide whether they have a real president in control or whether they are being manipulated as puppets of the shadow president.
