Critical Race Theory Arrives at the UN, Thanks to Socialist UN Chief Michelle Bachelet.
Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Human Rights, announced on Monday June 28th that “systemic racism needs a systemic response.” The UN human rights chief since 2018 added clarity to her unsubstantiated claims by saying “The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and other civil society groups led by people of African descent have provided grassroots leadership through listening to communities.”
While the position expressed by the Chilean Socialist politician and daughter of a military official from Marxist president Salvador Allende’s government should surprise no one, it does make evident where the communist identity politics war has broadened a new offensive: the UN.
Following the death of George Floyd, Bachelet requested a report from the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) she chairs. Labeled, “Promotion and protection of the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Africans and of people of African descent against excessive use of force and other human rights violations by law enforcement officers” (Report), the UNHRC findings wholly accept the epistemological assumptions that underlie Marxist Critical Race Theory. Consistent with the postmodernist narrative that knowledge is culturally constructed and “lived” experience is the ultimate source of “truth”, the report is flawed and permeated with ideological-driven laundered precepts.
